Special Notes
A fund-raiser for Dream Day on Cape Cod, this small race sponsored by the Brewster Police Relief Association features tough hills along a quiet mid-spring park road in Nickerson State Park. The park road is open to cars and on a warm, sunny day, the park can be busy so be alert especially up the first hill. After the turn at the top of Fire Tower Hill, traffic is significantly reduced. A point-to-point race, you can hitch a ride back to the registration parking lot to change and pick up your car ... but be sure to head back to Camp Nan-Ke-Rafe for a cookout and post-race party in the woods. With primary sponsorship and administration by the Brewster Police Department, you can expect a large turnout from local police and fire departments seeking bragging rights for king and queen of the hills. While you're there, take time to explore some of the bike paths, ponds, and single-track trails through the woods that make Nickerson State Park such a jewel. Just be ready for a few more hills! It's nice to see a formal running race return to the park after so many years and we hope to see this local-feel 'neighborhood' race on the calendar again and again.

The Course
Start at the entrance to the first parking lot headed south into the park. Follow the main park road, Deer Park Road, up the hill, past the fire tower, to the finish at the dirt road entrance to Nan-Ke-Rafe camp. The first mile is a steady climb to the fire tower followed by a twisty roller coaster up to Area 6. After the parking lot at Area 6, it's a straight downhill shot to the finish line.
Getting There
Take Route 6 to exit 12 (Orleans) and head west off of the exit towards Brewster on Route 6A. The entrance to Nickerson State Park will be about 1.5 miles on your left. Parking is available at the start just to the right of the gatehouse (the registration area) or at the Area 6 parking lot near the finish. An informal shuttle service is available for those who leave their cars at the starting line.
