HELP! It’s Hyannis Marathon, Marathon Relay and Half Marathon races time, Sunday, February 24th, and we need to supply large numbers of volunteers to handle number pick-up on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and to act as course guides during the race. Working at this event is a major source of club revenue and visibility, so it is important we show up in force. Of course, lots of club members run in these races, and working on Saturday does not interfere with doing so.
Team Nally, Pat & Tom, organize the indoor work, so contact them at: firstname.lastname@example.org if you are willing to work on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning at the registration tables.
I’m responsible for obtaining volunteers for outdoor work, so e-mail me or phone me at 508-432-2464. So far I have heard from about half as many as we need. For those returning, the drill is the same as it has been in recent previous years: meet at 8:00AM at the Hyannis Package Store off the rotary at the end of Main St. in Hyannis. Past President Bill Ferguson may be the course guides captain and make the assignments again. Whoever does it, you can probably get the same locations you have had in the past. Special T-shirts are awarded to outside workers and beer and pizza are available after the race at the 19th Hole.
