Iron Teams Relay
 Volunteers needed!
Dear Robert,

Help out some island kids and families. We need volunteers to coordinate the running of the race from helping with registration, to manning water tables, to shuttling participants’ gear from leg-to-leg. Your best friend, your work colleague, schoolmate, whomever…
You get great satisfaction plus:
A FREE T-shirt

FREE entrance to the BBQ after the race
Call me, David Zieff, at 508.325.6423, or

If you’d prefer to participate, sign up individually or organize your team. Get in shape. And register – there’s a link to The Active Network below.

Remember, Sunday, June 24, 10:00AM at Jetties Beach on the island.
Mentoring Youth Nantucket (MYNantucket) is the beneficiary – we used to be Big Brothers Big Sisters on Nantucket – but separated this year. Now, all funds raised on Nantucket stay on the island.

Nantucket Iron Teams Relay 2012

Nantucket Iron Teams Relay

Leg 1, the short run, mirrors the 3.5-mile Brant Point Run, winding its way through the stately Cliff neighborhood.
Leg 2, a .75 swim and 1 mile swimmers’ run along Nantucket’s beautiful north shore beaches.
Leg 3, a .75-mile paddle continuing north along Nantucket’s pristine north shore beaches.
Leg 4, a 3.5-mile beach and all-terrain run – the terrain includes a beach run at 40th pole and Madaket harbor, conservation protected moors and paved road.  This run includes a water crossing or 2.
Leg 5, is a 16.3-mile bike ride from Madaket through the village of ‘Sconset to the Cranberry Bogs.
Leg 6, the final leg, is a 5.25-mile long run on the Polpis bike path from the bogs to the Chicken Box on Dave Street where it’s time celebrate, and enjoy our BBQ and post race celebration.
Run it as a team with your family, high school buddies or friends from work, or run it by yourself – whatever way it’s fun, exciting and a real community oriented event – and get a wonderful feeling of helping a local organization helping kids.

Check out the race course.
