Falmouth Road Race BBBSCCI

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands has 14 numbers left to distribute to runners in the 40th Anniversary of the Falmouth Road Race! Big Brothers Big Sisters offers outstanding mentorship programs to local children in need, but we as an organization also aim to tackle other public issues, such as health and wellness, that plague under-resourced children living on the Cape. Every year, 5,000 runners are turned away, so don’t wait! Call today for your number and partner with us to raise money  to help children in Cape communities. The 22nd Firecracker 5K Run & Walk is Wednesday July 4th, 8 AM start.  Please pick up your numbers and shirts on Tuesday July 3rd from 9 AM-9PM at Nantucket Health Club to minimize sign up crowds on race day. Most will register at the number pick up on Tuesday but you may sign up in advance at the link below-you should still attend the number pick up on Tuesday if possible. New this year is D-Tag chip timing (chip on the bib) with both start and finish trigger mats and USATF certified course (finish line moved a bit longer!). BPR will be held as usual Tuesday July 3rd. We can always use volunteers so email me if you can help out. Thanks, Bob.

Good Afternoon,

My name is Ryan Bushway, I work with the Pawtucket Red Sox and am organizing the PawSox 5K Race Walk here at McCoy Stadium here in Pawtucket, RI.  The race will start here at our stadium on September 1, 2012 and I wanted to reach out to your running club to see if there would be any interest in participating.  It is a certified USTAF race to benefit the Pawtucket Red Sox Charitable Foundation which supports hundreds of organizations dedicated to helping children and families.

The Top Overall Male and Female will each win $250 Cash, 4 Round Trip Tickets from AMTRAK to Boston or New York, an Alex and Ani Bracelet, and a $50 RHODE Runner Gift Card.

Everyone who registers in the race will also get a free ticket to the the September 1st game here at McCoy where the PawSox will be holding a pre-game recognition and recap to honor all of those who participated in the race.

If you have any questions or would like some more information on the race you can visit our website below:

Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.

CCAC has been challenged to a Team Competition by the Falmouth Track Club (FTC) for the Cape Cod Marathon Relay in Falmouth on 10-28-2012.
If you would like to be part of the relay team, please contact Bill Masterson as soon as possible, to reserve your spot. We need 3 teams of 5 people each; a Male Team, and Female Team, and a Mixed Team. All 3 teams will be open class, which means that people of any age can run on the team. Our current thinking is to put our 5 fastest men on the Male Team, our 5 fastest women on the Female Team, and #6, #7, and # 8 men and women on the Mixed Team. CCAC will pay the entry fee for all CCAC teams, as long as each team member has dues paid up through 11-30-2012.
There will be a trophy for the winning club, and the bragging rights will be obnoxiously large. If you are a member of both clubs, please consider running for CCAC. We NEED you.
