Dream Day on Cape Cod plans Tour da Cape bicycle ride

Dream Day on Cape Cod is pleased to announce its annual bicycle ride fundraiser, Tour da Cape. The 100-mile bicycle ride is scheduled for Thursday, June 14.

A camp for seriously ill children and their families, Dream Day invites interested riders to participate. The entry fee is $450.

Starting in Needham, the ride continues through the towns of Westwood, Canton, Bridgewater, Middleboro, Carver, Onset, Bourne, Hyannis, Yarmouth and ends in Brewster at the Dream Day camp. The route takes participants on back roads, through cranberry bogs, along the  Cape Cod Canal and on hilly terrain. A celebratory ending includes hot showers, a Cape Cod clam bake, lobsters and cold beverages.

Those participating in the ride are welcome to stay the night in one of Dream Day on Cape Cod’s family cabins. Over the past six years, riders have raised more than $50,000 for the camp.

The ride originates from recreational riders from Northeast Security, a private security company in Newton, who set out to see if they could complete the 100-mile ride. Each contributed money for the ride and meals. After successfully completing the journey, they decided to donate their remaining money to Dream Day.

Please feel free to participate in this year’s ride and support a wonderful cause in the process. Tour da Cape riders are important contributors who make a direct impact on the families that attend the camp. Dream Day on Cape Cod is dedicated to providing a space for families to create loving and lasting memories that transcend pain and struggle.
