First Cape Cod 100 In The Books

Dan Rose of Alexandria, VA won the inaugural Cape Cod 100 mile footrace Saturday in a time of 16 hours and 12 minutes. Tied for second and third were Bob Jensen of Cotuit and Fred Merolo of Hartford, CT in 28:01. Also started was Greg Stone of Falmouth, retired at 48 miles, Pete Stringer of Osterville at 36, and Carl Gustafson of Forestdale at 31. The race was held on a winding course from the drawbridge in Woods Hole to the town hall in Provincetown which was designed by the Cape Cod Ultra Society’s Greg Stone.
